Sirmons Speech Services
Overview
Sirmons Speech Services, Inc. is seeking a qualified and motivated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide school-based speech and language services within a public school system in Colorado Springs. This is a full-time (40 hours per week), 1099 independent contractor position for the 2026–2027 school year. The SLP will collaborate with school teams to support students receiving special education and related services in compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Colorado Department of Education (CDE) regulations, and district policies.
Duties
- Conduct speech-language screenings, evaluations, and assessments
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and services
- Provide direct and consultative speech-language therapy services
- Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, and multidisciplinary team meetings
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with district, state, and federal requirements
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, administrators, and families
- Ensure services are delivered in compliance with IDEA, FERPA, and CDE requirements
- Adhere to ethical standards established by ASHA and applicable licensing boards
Skills
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution
- Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Special Services Provider License, or eligibility to obtain prior to start date
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- School-based experience preferred
- Ability to pass all required background checks for work in a public school setting
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
Independent Contractor Requirements
- Ability to work as a 1099 independent contractor
- Maintain professional liability insurance
- Responsible for all applicable federal, state, and local taxes
- Not eligible for employee benefits through Sirmons Speech Services, Inc. or the school district
- Ability to meet all district onboarding and compliance requirements for contracted providers
