I’m a member of NSSLHA… isn’t that part of it?

No, these are two different organizations. NSSHLA is the national organization for pre-professionals studying communication sciences and disorders. CSHA is the state organization for professionals. However, you can receive a discount to be a CSHA member if you are a NSSLHA member.

What is CSHA?
  • The Colorado Speech-Language Hearing Association (CSHA) is a professional association of speech-language pathologists and audiologists who specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of communication, swallowing and hearing disorders.
  • It is a volunteer based organization.
  • CSHA is recognized by ASHA as an official state association, however it is a separate entity
What does CSHA do?
  • CSHA advocates for professionals by monitoring proposed legislation as well as helps to develop agendas to address legislation
  • Encourages members to contact their state senators and representations to support legislation as well as to express support or voice concerns regarding proposed bills
  • Participates in advocacy days at the State Capitol
  • Provides continuing education opportunities through the annual conference as well as through webinars
  • Fields a variety of questions from members and helps guide them answers and/or resources
  • Provides resources for state licensure and regulations
