CSHA offers membership in a variety of levels, including student membership, as determined by membership criteria.
Professional Members must hold a master’s degree or its equivalent with major emphasis in speech-language pathology, audiology, speech and hearing science, education of the hearing impaired or other disciplines directly involved in research or performance in the field of human communication. These members shall have voting rights and the right to hold office in the association.
1 year – $75; 2 year – $120; Full time doctoral student – $55
SLP-A Members provide clinical services in speech-language pathology or audiology under the direct supervision of a speech-language pathologist or audiology who has achieved the appropriate professional certification in the area(s) of service or when they are state and federal employees who meet the guidelines established by their state and/or federal employers. These members shall not have voting rights or the right to hold office in the association. SLP-A members who are employed full or part-time and are enrolled in good standing in a speech-language pathology or audiology master’s degree program will have a membership fee discount from the full membership fee.
1 year – $45
CF Members must hold a master’s degree with major emphasis in speech-language pathology or speech and hearing science. Students who have been a CSHA member for one year prior to graduation are eligible for a discounted membership rate of $50 for the first year.
New Member:1 year – $75; Current member (1 year prior) – $50
Student Members are those persons who are full-time students in training in speech-language pathology, audiology, speech and hearing science or education of the hearing impaired and who have demonstrated their full-time status and good standing by submitting a verification signature from the academic advisor or other appropriate faculty member. The definition of full-time student will be left to the discretion of the university or college. Student members shall not have voting rights. Student members are only eligible to serve as a Student Liaison on the CSHA Board of Directors.
1 year – $30; Student NSSLHA Member – $10
Life Membership shall be awarded to individuals based on long term membership and service to CSHA and/or other state associations. Long term service shall be defined as a minimum of 20 years active participation in the association. Nomination for life membership must come from a regular member with supporting documentation specific to the service the individual has done in the associations. The life membership award will be voted on by the CSHA Board of Directors. Life members shall have voting rights and the right to hold office in the association. Membership fees will be waived.
