Job Description:

The Speech Therapy Lead is primarily responsible for ensuring direct services for all clients can be rendered by maintaining a flexible, dynamic schedule. This is performed in accordance with physician orders and plan of care under the direction and supervision of the Program Manager. During time without direct services, the Speech Therapy Lead will assist the SPOT Program Manager with clinical and administrative responsibilities. The Speech Therapy Lead will oversee the occupational therapy team’s quality assurance measures and the occupational therapy team’s mentoring program. Essential components of this position are listed below but are subject to change at the discretion of management.

Qualifications:

  • State of Colorado State Licensure for Speech Therapy
  • At least two (2) years of pediatric physical therapy experience, required
  • At least 1 year of leadership in clinical setting, preferred

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage a dynamic schedule; billable requirement of a minimum of 18-23 hours per week.
  2. Evaluates level of function, develops the plan of care, and revises as necessary.
  3. Completes evaluation and progress notes documentation within 5 business days.
  4. Completed daily notes within 48 business hours.
  5. Advises and consults with the family and other agency personnel.
  6. Participates in continuing education programs as required by State, Federal, and Accrediting bodies.
  7. Understands and adheres to established policies and procedures.
  8. Participates with all other health care personnel in client care planning.
  9. Completes initial history and evaluation visit, notifies physician of client needs and prepares plan of care and orders for physician approval.
  10. Performs all skilled Speech Therapy services as ordered by physician.
  11. Consults with physicians regarding change in treatment.
  12. Participates in team consultation as required and beneficial.
  13. Completes a discharge summary upon completion of therapy services.
  14. Immediately reports to the Program Manager any client incidents or complaints.
  15. Performs administrative duties as agreed upon.
  16. Performs supervisory responsibilities as assigned for CFYs
  17. Performs leadership duties as assigned by the Program Manager to include: completing quality assurance measures for the Speech Team which includes treatment integrity visits, chart reviews, and skill assessments, overseeing the mentorship program for the Speech Team, provide coaching and support to other CFYs/STs, provide positive and constructive mentoring to speech staff regarding clinical skills on a regular basis

Working Environment:

Works indoors in Agency office/clinic. May be required to drive between clinic locations.

Pay Range: $80-92K salary
