Abstract: These days self-care is more important than ever. There are many avenues by which one can care for them selves, yet do you consider playing an essential component? In the throes of adulting, we tend to think of play as something for kids and that we don't need it. Yet, there is a significant body of evidence that indicates that playing is EXACTLY what we need to do as adults in order to stay balanced, mentally sharp and emotionally and physically healthy. It keeps us engaged with friends, family, and life, releases endorphins through laughter, lightens our moods, promotes productivity, and helps stave off anxiety and depression. Join this course to learn your play personality and engage in many games that will help you recharge. You will even be able to use many of these in your speech-language practice, no matter the ages or setting you serve.
